Today, September 17, 2024, the DSTV Delicious Festival PR and Media representatives, Total Exposure, released a statement confirming that Janet Jackson will no longer headline the upcoming DSTV Delicious Festival.

“It is with heartfelt understanding that we announce Janet Jackson will no longer be able to headline the DStv Delicious Festival Powered by Lotto Star due to pressing family commitments following the recent passing of her brother, Tito Jackson. We send our deepest condolences and support to Janet and her family during this time of mourning”.

According to Total Exposure, they say The Festival’s Management Team has been in communication with Janet Jackson’s management team and have shared an update saying “Janet’s brother Tito passed away this past Sunday. For obvious reasons, Janet has to cancel her performance at the DStv Delicious Festival to be with family.

Total Exposure also reports that management is making plans to come back next year. Janet also wishes to thank all of her South African fans for the warm and heart-felt support she’s receiving at this difficult time.”

The company says that they understand that many fans were excited to see Janet Jackson perform, and the Festival’s Management Team is actively working on securing a suitable international replacement headliner to ensure an unforgettable experience.

Ticket holders who wish to exchange their tickets for the event on Saturday, September 21, 2024, for tickets for the event on Sunday, September 22, 2024, can do so through the Ticketmaster website. This option will be available from 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, until 11:59 PM on Wednesday, September 18, 2024.

Please note that this option is subject to availability. Saturday tickets remain valid for those who would like to retain them.
