If there’s one thing Proudly South African knows how to do, it’s make a statement — and the recent announcement of their 2025 Local Fashion Police judges was nothing short of iconic. Press Icons was among the select media invited to an exclusive launch aboard the legendary Blue Train, transforming the rails into a runway of style, culture, and proudly South African spirit.
The day began in Pretoria, where media personnel stepped into the opulent vintage interiors of the Blue Train — polished wood panels, soft golden light, and an air of timeless glamour. From there, the journey took us to the outskirts of the city, with breathtaking landscapes rolling past as we indulged in a fully stocked culinary spread.

From gourmet dishes to artisanal drinks, every bite and sip was a love letter to South Africa’s rich food culture.
In the plush dining carriage, CMO— Happy Ngidi from Proudly SA took the floor, presenting this year’s panel of Local Fashion Police judges, along with partners and sponsors. It was more than just an announcement — it was a celebration of South African talent, creativity, and the brands that define our unique fashion identity.
Proudly SA’s commitment to supporting local brands is unmatched. Through initiatives like the Local Fashion Police, they invite the public to dress in their finest locally-produced outfits, post them on social media, and have their looks judged by a panel of industry heavyweights. The best-dressed contestants are selected to showcase their ensembles in the finals, with the ultimate winner walking away with a R45,000 grand prize.
