South African Fashion Week (SAFW) is set to bring Orlando Pirates footballers to the runway for Field to Fashion, a collaboration billed as a first for Fashion Week globally. Taking place on Saturday, 24 October 2026, at The Forum, Hyde Park Corner, Johannesburg, the show will see players exchange their football boots for individually styled designer looks.

As the penultimate show of the SAFW AW27 Collections, Field to Fashion introduces a different energy to the programme. Orlando Pirates players will take to the runway in individual looks created through collaborations between South African stylists and top designers including Neo Serati, David Tlale, Good Good Good and Yona.

For SAFW, Field to Fashion represents more than an unexpected runway collaboration. It is part of the platform’s broader commitment to developing a commercially sustainable South African designer fashion industry. By connecting designers with the cultural influence of football, the initiative creates opportunities to introduce local design to new audiences, expand media exposure and build relationships beyond Fashion Week.
