RiSA Invites Submissions For the Lifetime and International Achievement Awards Ahead of the SAMAs

The Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) is excited to announce that submissions are now open for the prestigious Lifetime Achievement honours and International Achievement Award, for the 30th instalment of the South African Music Awards (SAMA). These awards celebrate exceptional contributions to the music industry and recognise artists, producers and music industry professionals who have made significant impact both locally and internationally.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is bestowed on individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the South African music landscape over a sustained period of no less than 20 years. Nominees should epitomise excellence and celebrate the rich heritage and diverse culture of South African music.

“Recognising the talent and hard work of our music professionals is essential to the growth and development of the industry,” said Nhlanhla Sibisi, CEO at RiSA. “We encourage everyone to participate in honouring those who have shaped the music landscape of South Africa and have taken it to the world.”

The International Achievement Award acknowledges South African artists who have successfully made their mark on international platforms. This award aims to inspire emerging artists by highlighting those who have excelled globally and represented South Africa on the world stage.

Submissions are open until end of September 2024. Interested parties can submit their nominations through the SAMAwebsite at www.samusicawards.co.za where additional guidelines and criteria can be found.
